Volumes of receipt and dispatch of green coffee beans last year were within the expectations, according to Cooxupé.

The results are favorable, considering the numerous challenges faced, as high temperatures, drought and frost, as well as international issues with logistics.

Receipt and dispatch

Mass participation of co-op members had positive reflection concerning receipt expectations.

Cooxupé received 4.5 million 60 Kg- bags from its members, out of total 5.6 million bags inbound (about 336 thousand tons).

Both domestic and international expedition totaled 6.037 million bags, out of which 4.9 million were directly exported to clients in 50 countries worldwide.

The results are within expectations as targets had been revised.

Cooxupé’s President Director, Carlos Augusto R. de Melo, stresses the global impact in shipments due to bottlenecks in logistics, as the lack of containers.

“It’s quite important to highlight that the co-op overcomes challenges and reaches good results by counting on loyalty and trust from its members,” he states.

According to him, that is the outcome of farmers’ comprehension of coffee business, while the wholesome performance of a co-op depends on unity.

“By these means, the participation of co-op members increases, and it does reflect, in a positive manner, on the overall result. Congratulations to our member farmers and personnel for doing their best,” concludes Melo.
